Acoustic Energy AE120 Speakers - Walnut. He large premium model in the 100 series and a true 3-way speaker design. The speaker gives out an enormous sound considering its slimline enclosure, designed to easily suit a variety of interior design styles. They are complete with their original boxes and grilles.
The inclusion of two bass drivers underpin the performance of these room filling loudspeakers. The mid-range driver is housed in its own enclosure, that has been carefully designed to reduce the potentially problematic effects of rear wave reflections.
The wave-guide uses matched WDT (Wide Dispersion Technology), for the 25mm soft dome tweeters that control the high frequencies with regulated dispersion, high sensitivity and low distortion. The 3-way crossover has been deigned to give special attention to the phase and time alignment for optimum frequency component integration and soundstage. The result is a speaker with wide dispersion for the high frequency components and a clear mid-range and super fast bass response. The cabinets are constructed from 18mm MDF which is mass loaded to help dampen any cabinet vibrations. The internal bracing system has been tuned also to reduce cabinet resonances and mid-range colouration. The AE 120's it on a subtle discrete satin black plinth that aids stability, and further improves the dynamics and focuses the stereo image.
