B&W Bowers & Wilkins 804s 200W Floor Standing Speakers in Rosenut + accessories

With the following details for each one. 3-way vented matrix braced box system. 1 x 25mm (1) diameter aluminium dome tube loaded tweeter (high frequency). 1 x 150mm (6) diameter woven Kevlar cone.

2 x 165mm (6.5) diameter Rohacell cone (base) with front firing Flowport. Frequency Range (-6dB): 30Hz and 50kHz. Impedance: 8 Ohm (min 3 Ohm).

Sensitivity: 90dB spl (2.83V, 1m). They are in excellent condition considering their age (bought new in 2007) and have provided me with sterling service both for music and within my home cinema set up - I always kept the grilles on. The tweeter motors are much newer as I replaced them earlier this year after historical damage was caused by small inquisitive fingers which I admit I did live with for quite a few years... There are some minor'nicks' in the wood veneer on the speaker that sat on the RHS of my system (mainly on the lower right and middle back) as this was in a'trafficked' area of the lounge plus they were dusted more regularly than the other side...

, but I think these can be touched up easily enough. There are less than 15 of them in total I think and most are very small in size. I have highlighted the longest one (15mm) in a photo above which I admit is a bit obvious in the middle of the left side as can be seen in one photo...

There is also a strange'blot' on one of the tweeter housings which I have captured in another photo as I couldn't get rid of it when cleaning them. I had them on adjustable spikes through the carpet and these, along with the original terminal jumpers, Microfibre cloths, rubberised feet for hard floors and a smaller set of spikes (which may or may not fit as unsure if they actually came with the speakers) are included. Some other smaller rubberised pads are also there if you have tiles. I had them bi-wired into my receiver so didn't use the jumpers.

The Rosenut stain is the best colour B&W produce in my humble opinion and you won't be disappointed when you see the rich dark brownish ruby-red colour (the non-flash photos show it best), which has maintained its shine very well over the years of ownership. The shape of these speakers is very pleasing on the eye and the curved cabinet was designed by B&W to help distribute the sound based stresses evenly across the surface - the shell-like enclosure absorbs vibrations and shocks, preventing them from disturbing the speakers sensitive drive unit assemblies. These'S' speakers have been rated as a better listen than the previous'N' version, which I suppose makes some sense as they are a later model, but probably more down to improvements in the mid range and bass cones. They certainly didn't disappoint me, but you will need a reasonably chunky receiver/amp to drive them properly. Obviously if you hire a van and come to Bristol, you can pick them up for free!

And yes, in case you were wondering, you extract them (and in my case put them back as shown in one photo) from the boxes by standing them on their'heads' (method shown on the boxes), as the tweeters are protected by the polystyrene upper block.
