Castle Avon Floorstanding Speakers

Castle Avon floorstanding speakers in full working order and good condition. I believe that they were the first Castle design to use carbon fibre cone mid/bass drivers. The cabinets are ported through a slot between the bottom of the cabinet and the plinth.

They have a neutral, detailed and open sound that particularly suits acoustic and vocal music. The mid/bass drivers on this era of Castles are prone to buzzing and rattling because of failing adhesive. That was the case with these, but they have been re-glued with more durable adhesive, which should be a long-term fix. The real mahogany finished cabinets have a little wear and tear (see photos), but they have been cleaned and given a coat of hard wax oil and look very nice.
