EMPIRE ROYAL GRENADIER 9000 15 speakers vintage, floor standing, audiophile

Empire 9000M was the best and most expensive loudspeaker system Empire ever built. As with all Empire products, it was built with excellent quality of parts and workmanship.

It was a 3 way 15 inch system in a cylindrical enclosure about 30 inches tall. M signified the marble top. The midrange and tweeter were mounted behind an "acoustic lens" which consisted of a very fancy gold plated aluminum? Plate with diffusers to improve dispersion the EMPIRE Royal Grenadier 9000M, mostly because of its appearance.

Originally designed to be obscure in a fashionable living room of the early sixties, it stands only 29 high, placing the midrange and tweeter rather low unless one is seated. They could easily blend in with the other furnishings, sometimes being used as end tables, rendering them very compliant to the WAF.
