Wooden veneer is far from perfect, but that's it. No place to re-veneer them, otherwise I would do it. Sound is rich and sweet, just great.

Non fatigue with smooth trebles, huge soundstage, natural timbre, suitable for any genre, but size wise they are designed for smaller rooms. The S2tlm Ribbon is a compact transmission line giving a very detailed large scale and natural sound. The S2tlm Ribbon uses the superb IPL/6/M with its ultra light but stiff magnesium cone, smooth response, sturdy cast chassis, and large shielded magnet assembly, and the superb Fountek CD3.0 Ribbon tweeter. The Cd3.0 is a very high quality unit with high strength Neodymium magnets. The advantage of the ribbon is a 10x better mass to magnetic flux ratio, over most dome tweeters giving a fast and transparent sound.

All drivers are matched for response and sensitivity. The S2tlm Ribbon has been designed to work in slightly smaller rooms than the S2tlk of at least 14ft by 12ft with speakers preferably firing the length of the room, ideally at least 16" from the side wall and 10" from the rear wall. The S2tlm Ribbon bi-wired crossover is 2nd order at 3.0 khz, and incorporates high quality IPL Polypropylene capacitors IPL Steel laminate bass inductors, air cored treble inductors, and high power resistors.

Line damping is with 80% IPLs Profiled Acoustic Foam, 20% Heavy Duty Rubber damping and Long Haired wool. The total kit includes a very solid flat-pack cabinet (with 12 x 18mm MDF panels per speaker), including internal baffles, angled deflectors, and a shaped grille frame, Plus and Total Kits now include the CP4L Gold Terminal Crossover panel. 18 mm MDF (grille 9mm). Khz, 2nd order Suggested int. HU1 silver PTFE (5m reqd).
