Monitor Audio Studio 20 SE Floor Standing Speakers Piano Finish Rosewood

Monitor Audio Studio 20 SE in beautiful piano finish real wood veneer Rosewood. A genuinely beautiful set of legendary speakers from the 1990's in what I'd consider exemplary condition for their age. A few very light fine scratches on the top only visible under close scrutiny. Alas one chip to the lacquer to the reverse of one speaker and a tiny chip to the mid front edge of one speaker (both detailed in photos) Both main drivers in excellent condition.

I bought these speakers approx 5 years ago (second hand) as always coveted a pair since owning their smaller cousin the Studio 2 se stand mounts. The upshot of this was that I got 2 brand new entire tweeters complete with new ferrofluid from Ortons Hi Fi. So less than 5 years use as retired these speakers a year ago. You may notice they sport a silver tweeter diaphragm as these have since been replaced with a titanium version as I'd read this might be a further upgrade couldn't hear any difference if I'm honest!

One of these tweeter sports very slight creasing due to a minor knock. There is no sun fading on these speakers I have the terminal bridges but I'd advise using cable jumpers which I can throw in (Chord) and I have the original set of spikes, but they currently sport damped rubber pads as I used these on a hard floor. I also have some small grilles that magnet over the tweeter to prevent knocks but they sound better without them.

Can be filled with dry ballast if required. These speakers used to be used by What Hi Fi in their reference review test system not this actual pair! I'm happy to go the extra mile to do this but it will be a cost tba and discussed perhaps. Collection and quick demo not a problem of course. Any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
