The Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 are floorstanding speakers in the new 12 range, with the same accuracy and musicality of the smaller standmount speakers. These speakers have a refined presence and power to make them a very affordable option for an impressive stereo hi-fi system or in a home cinema set-up. They have a 2.5 way configuration with excellent crossover technology enabling the Diamond 12.3 to employ two 5 Klarity drivers for a powerful yet controlled mid-range and bass response.

The 25mm dome tweeter compliments the woofer and will gve you spacious high frequencies. The Diamond 12 range are genuine hi-fi loudspeakers at an affordable price, that capture the spirit of music, irrespective of the genre you listen to, the result will be as the orignal artist intended. The 12 range has been created in collaboration with the loudspeaker designer; Karl-Heinz Fink, resulting in a modern industrial design speaker that is still distinctly Wharfedale with top class acoustic design and engineering principles.

The Klarity cone are fitted with a low-damping surround for low colouration, expressive dynamics and a flat frequency response curve. The cone material is a mix Polypropylene and mica that reinforces the rigidity allowing for a lightweight cone with low colouration and super fast response. The smooth extended, open highs are produced by the 25mm tweeter dome which has a woven polyester film with high-loss coating. For dispersion and uncompressed sound, the magnet structure is designed to deliver best performance and the flat front plate reveals as much of the dome as possible to balance the acoustic load and enhance the sound pressure level. The crossover network utilises an acoustic LKR 24dB topology employing air-core inductors that you would normally only find in high-end speakers which create the least distortion of all inductor types.

Since as, the resistance of the coil is higher than a standard laminated steel or ferrite core inductor, the magnet of mid-range bass driver has been modified to compensate and to ensure a clean and undistorted bass. The internal bracing in the cabinet is Intelligent Spot Bracing which connects the opposing walls within a specific form of the wood brace for excellent cabinet resonance reduction. The bracing has been computer modelled to enhance the typical'figure of eight' brace, which may transfer resonance from one wall to the other. The rear-port is accurately sizes so the internal volume of the cabinet compliments the drive units for the intended audio output.
